The tour through our intelligent port will give you the opportunity to experience the smartPORT from up close and look at some of the smartPORT project results.

To introduce you to the concept of smartPORT logistics, we will show you on site how we collect traffic and infrastructure information and how we use it. 

On the example of a few selected pilot projects you will gain an idea of the technologies we deploy and the local particularities. One of the projects we will show you will be an innovative intelligent parking solution. We will also introduce to you the smartROAD project under which intelligent technology has been installed along a road section in the Port of Hamburg.

During the trip through the port you will spot DIVA signboards [electronic variable message signs] along the road. They display traffic information to drivers in real time, who can then respond to traffic conditions by, e.g., taking alternative routes. We will also show you other components of intelligent traffic control.

The tour concludes with lunch at the Duckdalben, Hamburg's international seamen's club, around noon.
