Max Boodie
Moderator 29th IAPH World Ports Conference
Max Boodie started his career in 1990 at a Dutch consultancy where in 1995 he set up the procurement & supply division. In 1997 he became a partner. Until 2005 he was actively involved in numerous procurement and logistics projects in the private and public sector. In 2005 he started a joint venture with DPA Group N.V., a company listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, which specialised in procurement and supply chain issues relating to staffing, consulting and recruitment.
In 2010 Max sold his share in the joint venture to DPA Group N.V. and became a member of the two-member executive board. He was asked to manage a major takeover. When the takeover was finalised in 2011, he left DPA. Since 2012 Max Boodie has been busy investing in technology-driven start-ups.
In 2013 Max Boodie won everyone over when he moderated the “International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) Africa/Europe Regional Meeting” in Amsterdam.
Max Boodie is the author of several books about procurement and supply chain management. His most recent book (2014) is about temporary employment and staffing in the Netherlands from a sourcing perspective.
He also is a part-time PhD student at the University of Groningen, where he researches the influence of incentives on the behaviour of procurement professionals and their internal customers.
Max is married, the father of two children – a 6-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl - and a passionate amateur racing driver of modern and classic racing cars.
